2004 - HB, the beginning
Hentaibreaks was the name given to a house-cooling/farewell party held in Stuttgart, Germany in 2004.
One of housetier's friends was leaving Germany for a prolonged stay in Thailand,
and at the same time it was the last party to be held at the location.
A kind of dual-good-bye; what perfect occassion to start something as awesome as hentaibreaks.
How do nerds party?
Room 1: Drum and Bass, Jungle, Oldskool Hardcore, colored flashy lights
Room 2: Chiptunes, annoying red rotatary light, fog machine
Kitchen: chill-out lounge
In every room: Some laptop showing hentai movies
Bathroom: Extra-cool fluorescent light behind the shower curtain for that creepy
i-am-getting-murdered-while-taking-a-leak feeling.
For added humili^W fun!
Add some chicanery in form of nasty looking neck-ties, mandatory for every attendee, and the whole thing smells of awesome.
2005 - HB2, it was fun, let's do it again!
Still in Stuttgart, but at a new location.
housetier moved in with AJ, and a house-warming party was to be held.
So two nerds (guess who) had the stup^W amazing idea to do a hentaibreaks v2.0.
Nobody stopped them.
Every party needs hardware hacks
We even found the time to get housetier's old rotary light (as mentioned in the HB1 block) working again,
hooking it up to an old PC.
Talk about overkill ;-)
2006 - HB3, 3rd time => ...and it became tradition
HB3 was, once again, a house-cooling/farewell party.
housetier was about to move to Berlin.
As you can see on the right hand side, we embrace the low-level approach to hentai visuals. Just a bare laptop showing cuteness in endless loops (^_^)
2007 - HB4, getting serious
So, now what. housetier moved to Berlin. hadez is still in south Germany, 800km away.
Distance is no barrier for the well-connected nerd.
Lots of new stuff
- For the first time we printed flyers and spammed them at various locations all over Berlin
- We got down dirty and stenciled HB shirts for us and the crew
- We got ourselfs a home on the internets (you're looking at it)
location! location! location!
c-base was acquired as the new party location and we received a shi^W buck-load of help from the space station's crew.
awesome people everywhere
We asked a couple of DJs if they wanted to play at a uber-nerd party in Berlin, Germany.
They agreed even though we told them we couldn't pay them a single cent.
- How awesome is that!?
hentai beat matching
golle of darklab.org joined us and transformed housetier's tremendous hentai collection into
stunning visuals projected in-sync to the music onto a huge canvas right next to the dance floor.
Now the visuals are a lot less explicit and finally go well with the music.
moar! the story of overkill
We somehow ended up with a 30.000W sound system, a 3.000W strobe light, a couple more lights,
two Technics turntables, two cdjs, a mixer, the whole enchilada.
We partied hard till 8 in the morning, that's when the last DJ fell asleep behind the decks.
2008 - HB5, history to be made
Of course there will be a HB5!
We're working harder than ever on bringing you the perfect mix of electronic music and slightly pervy
visuals in a japano-nerd compatible environment.
In one word: MOAR!
